Terms of supply
These are the main terms of our contract to supply electricity and, if you choose it, gas to your home. Your tariff’s prices and length are in your tariff information label and welcome pack.
1. Our contract with you
The contract starts when you confirm your switch by email. You can cancel within 14 days of that date without charge. Supply starts on your switch date.
2. Prices
On a fixed tariff your unit rates and standing charges don’t change during the fixed term, except for changes in VAT or other taxes set by the Government, which we pass on. On Brightwell Flexible we give you at least 30 days’ notice of any change.
3. Paying
You pay monthly by Direct Debit unless we agree another method. We review your Direct Debit every six months and tell you before changing it.
4. Ending the contract
You can switch away at any time. Exit fees apply only to fixed tariffs as stated in your tariff information label, and never in the last 49 days of a fix, when you move home, or for a deemed contract.
5. Meters and access
We, or our agents, may need access to your meters to read, inspect, maintain or replace them. We’ll always arrange this with you, except in an emergency.
6. Account credit
Credit from referrals, goodwill gestures or account offers is applied to your energy charges. It isn’t exchangeable for cash, and any credit not used when an account closes in its first 12 months is removed from the final bill.
7. Our standards
If we miss an appointment or get your switch wrong, we pay you compensation automatically.
8. Complaints
